On July 3, 2020, Raquel García, President of the Panamanian Chamber of Information Technology, Innovation, and Telecommunications (Capatec), announced the five winners of the Demo Week, where digital projects for the logistics and finance sectors competed from June 29 to July 3.

Intelligis participated with its proposal SmartMaps® for Logistics, a TMS based on GIS that digitalizes all the physical components involved in the operations of a logistics company. The system allows real-time visualization of all information on a platform based on geographic information systems (GIS), enabling efficient delivery route planning by understanding traffic variables, cellular coverage, hazardous zones, vehicle tracking (AVL services based on GPS), sensor data reading, optimizing routes based on over 35 operational variables, and automatically assigning orders to drivers. With this advanced system, drivers can report delivery status, location coordinates, photos, digital signatures, POD, and any information required by the company to monitor business management indicators on a single integrated platform that can be connected to their ERP, CRM, WMS or work autonomously.
SmartMaps and four other ventures (Shellock, SIA RED, Busco Mejor Flete, and Trausty) were the five winners of Demo Week, where over 23 companies presented proposals in the competition “Building the Future

The idea is to support logistics companies of different sizes, with field operations involving vehicles, people, cargo, and routes, that need to optimize their operations in Panama or other countries in the region. We help make them sustainable and profitable over time, reduce paper usage, improve their processes, and increase their sales,” said Cristhie Díaz, Project Leader at Intelligis.
Cristhie Díaz also mentioned that “this project highlights the great opportunity that GIS technologies have to eliminate inefficiencies in logistics operations, potentially reducing costs by up to 20% while simultaneously improving the service provided.”
For CAPATEC’s President, in addition to the five winners, the other 18 entrepreneurial projects are also winners because they are virtual solution proposals in the logistics and financial fields that address the needs of both the private and public sectors, which are currently demanding solutions in response to the economic crisis the country is facing.
Capatec-BID Lab thanked all the team members who made the successful development of this entrepreneurship initiative possible and announced that new projects, which will also have significant benefits for the country’s needs, will be unveiled soon.
